Understanding how transaction-specific protection works on TaapCraft
Effective Date: 20/11/2025
1. Insurance Role & Scope (Platform-Level)
TaapCraft may make transaction-specific protection or insurance available in connection with certain bookings or purchases.
Any such protection is provided by third-party insurers and applies only to the specific transaction for which it is offered.
TaapCraft does not act as an insurer and does not underwrite, guarantee, or assess insurance claims.
2. What the Transaction Protection Covers
Where applicable, transaction-specific protection may cover:
Accidental damage to property arising directly from the performance of a service
Personal injury caused by a trader during the provision of a service
Loss or damage to goods occurring during delivery or performance of a booked service
Other risks expressly stated at the time of booking
Important: Coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the relevant insurance policy.
3. When Insurance May Be Triggered (Goods & Services)
Insurance may be triggered only where:
1
A loss, damage, or injury occurs during the course of the booked transaction
2
The incident is directly connected to the goods or services provided by the trader
3
The issue cannot be resolved between the consumer and trader through TaapCraft's in-app resolution process
4. Mandatory Dispute Resolution Before Insurance
Before an insurance claim can be initiated, the consumer and trader must first attempt to resolve the issue using TaapCraft's in-app messaging and resolution tools.
TaapCraft may require evidence, including photographs, communications, receipts, or completion records, before facilitating an insurance claim submission.
5. Exclusions from Insurance Coverage
Transaction-specific protection does not cover:
Dissatisfaction with quality where no damage, loss, or injury has occurred
Normal wear and tear
Disputes relating solely to pricing, scope changes, or cancellation rights
Losses arising outside the agreed booking period or transaction scope
Pre-existing damage or defects
6. Claims Handling & Liability
Where an insurance claim is initiated, it will be handled directly by the third-party insurer in accordance with the policy terms.
TaapCraft's role is limited to facilitating the submission of information and does not include assessing fault, determining liability, or deciding claim outcomes.
7. Trader Responsibilities (Insurance Compliance)
Traders acknowledge that:
Transaction-specific insurance does not replace their obligation to perform services with reasonable care and skill or supply goods in accordance with consumer law
They remain responsible for their acts and omissions
They may be required to cooperate with insurers in the event of a claim, including providing evidence and statements
8. Consumer Responsibilities (Insurance Use)
Consumers agree to:
Report any loss, damage, or injury as soon as reasonably possible through the TaapCraft platform
Provide accurate and truthful information when submitting a claim
Not submit claims for issues that are excluded from coverage
9. Refunds vs Insurance (Important Distinction)
Insurance protection is not a substitute for statutory cancellation rights or refunds.
Where a refund is due under consumer law, the trader remains responsible for providing the refund, and insurance will not be used in place of lawful refund obligations.
10. Transparency at Checkout
Optional but Recommended
Where transaction-specific protection is offered, details of coverage, exclusions, and any applicable fee will be displayed clearly before payment is taken.
